Church re-plastering - We are at present using several tons of haired coarse stuff as a base coat followed by medium stuff unhaired top coat to re-plaster a a church after removal of 1960s cement and sand plaster
The materials arrived on site on the day requested even though it was a short notice order the quality is consistent across the entire order. This was the first time we have used this company before but it won’t be the last Steve Strickland A M Strickland Builders 2019-06-13

A really attractive all-purpose mix - This coarse stuff knocks up in moments to an excellent, easy working mortar or pointing which cures to the right balance of strength without excessive hardness, for both softer and harder stonework. I have found the creamy oatmeal colour takes only the smallest amount of pigment when this is required. Christopher Gingell 2018-09-21

Finish made easier - Traditional material to match with existing mortar used to repoint and repair mixed stone and flint wall. Bagged ready mixed mortar with consistent grading makes working easier. Quality material at a reasonable cost. 2018-07-29

Consistent quality - Consistent high quality product. After a mix it gives a good textured mortar which is easy to work with and gives a good finish. Good colour match between bags. We used to mix our own, now don't bother! Good value when you consider the time saving and the better quality compared to mixing your own. Bags are strong enough to be lugged about without worrying that they'll split. Helpful delivery. Kate 2018-05-04

excellent stuff - Just what was required for repointing some of the brickwork on our shabby chic 1920s chalet bungalow by the sea. Easy to use with a little practice - even for a total novice like me. Delighted with the results. It looks great. ingrid 2017-11-17

Works well even for those inexperienced in mortar repair - A woodpecker, looking for insects ravaged the mortar on my 800 year old property. Bought a tub of premixed lime putty for repairs. It was easy to apply and it has hardened nicely. Colour does not really match but the whole building is so mottled, it does not really show. Good product David Flint 2017-09-25

consistently good - Im restoring a large Edwardian house previously under the care of Bodgit & Leggit Ltd for half a century or so. Cement strap pointing all over, gypsum on external walls etc etc. Bought a tub for some emergency repointing, it matches-ish the original mortar. Recently returned for 10 more bags to slowly repoint and rebuild the walls and plasterwork. Lovely stuff, breathable, flexible and very importantly for pointing, consistent in colour and texture. Great products and advice available at Lime stuff. 2017-09-08

Great product; Easy to use with Just a Little Practice - Used for pointing. The 25kg tub comes ready mixed which takes out one more variable for the DIY-er. Worth getting a 1.5kg pouch first to check for colour/particle size. Martin 2017-03-08

Just right! - I had to re-point a wall in a Victorian cottage and was advised that this would be the right thing for the job.
I'm no builder, just a keen DIY'er. The re-sealable 25kg tub was mixed and ready to go and after making sure I had a 25mm minimum rake on the old mortar I got started.
The end result is great and I will have no hesitation in buying again and recommending. 2016-11-08

repointing a 1600's barn - the premixed mortar/plaster has worked out perfectly on the old walls, and both the finish and texture are great - the premised tubs made the whole process pretty painless. Having followed the instructions in the 'Old House Handbook' the result is excellent and i hope the person who originally built the building in the 1600's would approve of the restoration. anna jeffreys 2016-07-07

Convenient and easy to use - A very good product for both repairing walls and for pointing stone walls. Convenient tub means mortar is ready to use and does not go off. Easy to work with. Ed 2016-05-20

Very easy to work with - Great quality, so much nicer to work with than modern plaster. Used as the scratch coat to repair a lath ceiling, so ordered course, pre-haired. Takes a little bit of 'getting used to', but after a short while it was as if I had been working with it for years. I have since added the medium coat (but ran out and had to order more, so make sure you get your sums right!) and will be following up with fine to complete the job. Febman 2016-04-05

Perfect for the job - A good quality mortar. Used this for brick laying and plastering the kitchen renovation I've recently done and it worked a treat. Like the fact it's environmentally friendly compared to modern cement based mortars and lets the house fabric breath. Costs more and takes a little more time to apply then modern substitutes, but is worth the end result. Being pre-mixed helps with consistancy. A fine product and will be buying again. Excellent product, gives a really beautiful rustic finish - Qaulity product. Each batch has been consistant with mix, colour and consistancy. When combined with stonework, gives a genuine, rustic and original feel to the build or restoration. J MAck-Burke 2015-03-11

Easy to use - Never pointed before so chose this pre-mixed lime mortar. Ideal for a novice as all you need to do is mix it up with a gauging trowel and off you go without worrying about samd/lime/water ratio. Went on fine even with my poor technique and looks great on exposef internal limestone wall after beating with churn brush a few hours later. Richard 2014-05-02
